Updating from windows 98 t

I am running Win98, ME, W2K in Virtualbox VM's, windows update does not work for IE5 on any of them (page loop), I have managed to update them to IE6 and it continues to go into some sort of page loading loop, Is this a VM issue or just outdated browser/OS issue?Does anyone know how to get Windows Update to work on these older versions of Windows? Edit, double checked W2K, it does not have a problem with Windows Update. With its modest system requirements, Windows 98 is quite possibly still the most widely used Microsoft operating system.Windows XP is the best all-around operating system that Microsoft has yet produced.

You can transfer your information several ways: No matter which transfer method you choose, be aware that most Windows 98 programs won’t run under Windows 7.

Installation Procedure It is very important that the update procedure be run from inside Windows 98.

If you boot the computer with the CD, the installation will not work properly.

Choose Upgrade and select Next A license agreement appears; read each and every word very carefully, consult a practicing attorney, and then accept the agreement by selecting the Accept radial and then the Next box.

The installation procedure now asks if you want to visit Microsoft's website to check your BIOS and install upgrade packs. Once at the site, Click the blue link in the middle of the page to check your BIOS.
